WPS Media - Clients
We 'tell it like it is'. WPS Media has an excellent reputation with the UK photo imaging press because our releases and other editorial are always no-nonsense, great value copy. Text that needs minimal editing and always written with the journalist in mind. We've been there ourselves, so we know that a poorly written and badly presented release means additional work and wasted time.
We always try to get involved at a strategic level with our clients and they trust our opinions. More often than not we can assess an idea and advise on its workability. We offer ideas. We think outside the box. We want our clients to get the best possible return on their marketing spend.
We understand the photo imaging market. Our managing director, Darron Hartas, trained as a press photographer, spent 5 years on a daily provincial newspaper, ran his own Photo Studio for 10 years, edited and published photo magazines including roles at The British Journal of Photography, Master Photographer and Photo Art International. He also single handedly set up and ran BJP's website and online newsletters for a number of years.
Our main clients include:
Our first client back in 2000 was (and still is) Fujifilm Professional. WPS Media's managing director, Darron Hartas, was invited to become Fujifilm Professional's press officer after moving on from the British Journal of Photography as News Editor. Since then, WPS Media has taken on a multitude of editorial, PR, website and marketing activities for Fujifilm.
WPS Media now operates its agency services across three of Fujifilm UK's divisions: Professional, Photo Imaging and Motion Picture. We handle the PR, press release writing and distribution for all three, together with regular online newsletters and various websites, including: www.choosefilm.com, www.fujilab.co.uk, www.fujifilmshorts.co.uk, www.fisdigital.co.uk and www.fujifilmstudentawards.co.uk
We get involved at a strategic level and work closely with the marketing managers to get the most out of their budgets. We work on a pro-active basis, ensuring deadlines are met and the right avenues of promotion are used for specific products and services. One of our goals is to help Fujifilm continue to promote and sell its film products in a declining marketplace. To this end we created the popular online film community www.choosefilm.com, with around 6,000 members.
We also provide a cost-effective direct sales solution for film stocks through www.fujilab.co.uk. WPS came up with the idea, set up the ecommerce solution and continues to provide warehousing and fulfilment.
Another long-standing client is the MPA. The Association is the only UK trade body exclusively for full-time professional photographers. WPS Media and its sister company Two Heads Design, handle a wide variety of marketing and technical activities.
WPS Media custom-built the Association's membership database and handles the hosting, email and spam filtering on a day to day basis. We are also responsible for data processing and recruitment for the popular Cherubs baby photography programme. The Association's websites are maintained by Two Heads, who also provide design services for offline promotional material. Most of the MPA's online editorial and press releases are handled by WPS Media, together with their online Newsletters.
WPS Media also assists MPA with their portrait promotions and has recently helped the Association upgrade their national Photography Awards to allow Online Submissions and judging.
WPS Media has been the PR agency for Kenro for a number of years now. This family owned photographic distributor has a long standing tradition in the UK and Ireland for supplying quality value photo goods to imaging retailers. Lines include Tokina lenses, Nissin flashguns, Kenair and more recently Benro tripods, among many others including Kenro's own branded items.
All the major new products are announced via press release by WPS Media and - as with our other clients - we archive them together with high and low res images at our sister site www.newsfeeduk.com. We also prepare a full press pack for Kenro for the major trade shows, especially Focus on Imaging. Products for testing and review are also handled by WPS.

"WPS's involvement in our Cherubs baby photography programme has been an essential component in the initiative's success over the past 5 years"
Colin Buck, CEO of Master Photographers
